Hi,

Had a problem with an aftermarket radio cutting out over bumps. Managed to get some keys to pop the unit from the dash, and most of the wires were just pushed into the multi plugs and held in place by tape which had fallen off causing the wires to drop out when the radio was removed. I've managed to identify all the speaker wires, but I'm unsure about the last four wires which are atttaced to one end on the Merc Multi Plug going into the loom. The wires are as follows:-

1st wire is Red, with White Stripe.
2nd wire is Grey.
3rd wire is Black, with yellow stripe.
4th wire is Brown.

Thanks for the reading

Karl

Brown=earth
grey=dashlights (to dim the dispay)
black/yellow is PROBABLY ign/aux feed
Red/white is PROBABLY permanent live (for volatile memory on radio)

Best to test these with digital voltmeter! You don't want 12v ending up where it shouldn't. ;)

Use a testlight not a voltmeter - but if you get the permanent live and/or switched live wrong, you won't do any damage.

Karl, this is another of your "solved " threads. It would be nice, perhaps, to know how it was solved.

Grobers & Teds reply gave me the answer to my question, so job done. Ted & Grober thanks see post. Job done, Solved SORTED !
