The car is a 2015 E350 212 estate, mileage just short of 120,000 miles. Serviced at MB under service plans until a couple of years ago, when the price of service plans went up a fair bit, so since then I've had it serviced at a local indie - not specifically an MB specialist, but they've been pretty good at diagnosis and repair of anything I couldn't do myself.
The car was serviced and MOTd a couple of months ago, with no issues, although I had noticed the rear suspension tending to drop when parked for a while, so we agreed to take the car back for a look at that. About the same time I noticed an occasional issue when driving. It was most noticeable when in gears 6 or 7. If driving along and taking your foot off the accelerator and coasting for a bit, when putting your foot down again (gently) you would notice, occasionally, not always, a slight "kangaroo" effect, the kind of feeling you would expect if driving a manual car and you were in too high a gear for the speed of the car. The car was not changing gear when this issue was noticed.
Took the car in for the suspension, which turned out to be a leaking air spring that was replaced and the problem solved. They also had a look at the kangaroo issue and found a code on the transmission - P060C-00 "Internal control fault at the CPU". They cleared the code and had the car for a few days, taking it for several test drives and couldn't notice the issue, and the error code did not re-appear. I've noticed since however that the issue still seems to be there. I scanned with my Icarsoft and there were no error codes. I've also done a couple of gearbox resets but the issue still appears. As I said before, not all the time, and otherwise the car runs well. If it wasn't to get any worse or isn't a sign of impending disaster I could live with it, but equally, it's not happened before and isn't normal.
Before I go back to the indie, with whom I have a pretty good relationship over the years with this and other cars, I'd welcome any suggestions that any members might have. I'm even less reluctant to hand it over to the local MB dealer. When they serviced the car they never filled me with great confidence, and a couple of days in there and I'd soon run up a bill greater than the value of the car!
