Hi Members, I'm Brad from Durham in the UK and look forward to learning more from members experiences with Mercedes.
In fact, I would love to hear of any experiences and or advice you may have with this issue on my
2014 SLK R172 250cdi AMG.
Limp mode with engine light sometimes on a morning after travelling a mile or so. Park up for a couple of hours and the light will remain on but will disappear after a longer period or overnight. Car performs normally after stopping engine when engine is up to temperature and restarted even though engine light is still on.
(Its like - If i start the car on a morning from cold and drive very carefully (keep revs/acceleration limited) until warmed up and then ask for power then Limp mode/engine light will not come on. - Could this point to a system leak, leading to lack of vacuum or blocked pipe stopping a vacuum occurring)
2 Fault Codes reported at recent service (46k Miles) P029900 & P00AF72 with some advise that Turbo will need replacing etc.
I have done some reading and so far faults point towards Boost Pressure Sensor or Turbo Boost Pressure Transducer Valve or Turbo itself (blades/Waste Gate/Diaphragm Valve) . I have changed Transducer Valve and this has not fixed the issue.
There are two Sensors that I can see which are a little confusing because sometimes they say they are the same. I have pictures of both (attached).
Any help would be fantastic, Thanks
