the thing i dont understand is, how do they actually make the scam. Is it:

a) a stolen car?
b) engineless?
or c) all of the above..

I mean im sure anyone would view and make the necessary checks before buying and so the guy wouldn't be able to pull the scam off?

I doubt the car exists at all, usually these scams use pictures and descriptions from past ebay auctions.

Usually the buyer will be asked to pay a deposit into a bank account, via Western Union or by paypal to secure the car.

All of these scams could be stopped if ebay didn't allow people to open accounts with throwaway hotmail and yahoo email accounts.

And also note how long it takes for these scams to be removed by ebay....

Because people get excited and think they're getting a £15k car for peanuts.

Remember the kid who brought a late W203 off ebay for next to nothing, and when he landed with the cash to collect it someone pulled out a gun and had it away?
