Hi All,
My car is mercedes e class w211 e280,
From past week squeaking sound is coming when driving, steering etc.

I've been to mechanic today,
After checking he told me needs a front left wishbone.

Price quoted from mechanic is,
Good brand wishbone is £125
+ 65 Labour plus Vat.

Is this a good price?

Thanks

That sounds like a good price. Are they checking the wheel alignment as well?

Hub ball joint is another squeaker. This wishbone ?? Is it the upper one that holds the leg .

He said the cheaper one is £95 and good brand is £125,
Also if you check mot history from this January.
I thought it must be wheel bearing issue,
Or end ball joint.

Well, go for the good brand. What brand is the good brand?

Mine were 500€ each so that sounds like a snip. Assuming it really is a good quaity part.

Have you tried MB?

Unfortunately don't know which brand it is.
I'm being told by mechanic is not a wishbone, is a ball joint seized.

is a ball joint seized.
If the ball joints are remveable, no big problem. Sadly, my control arms have non-removeable ball joints so the solution was clear, if costly.

Best to get the ball joints from MB.

Ive used lemforder and trw hub ball joints , both are OEM suppliers . No need to pay daft money for a pretty box 🎁. The ball joint on the w211 control arm isn't removable, it's complete arm needed. The middle thrust arm ,does have a small ball joint ,which is removable, but it simply connects to the arb link arm.

Yep , go for Lemforder
