How often do you change your filters

How may miles a year does your car do to warrant an air filter change, are your cabin filters still clean after 6 months ?
My e350 has 2 air filters at £70 a pair . Last year I did 3500 miles, ain't no way I'll be changing mine anytime soon. If they were £10 a pair ,then yes maybe yearly.

I only do about 5-7 thousand a year so swap them out anyway. I change cabin filter twice to try and keep the bacteria at bay. I also run a steam cleaner through my air vents as well at the same time, as have had the musty smell in the past.

I was told by an indy that my c class air filter was about £70+ and fuel around £120 so bough from MB Newcastle, air, oil, fuel, dust, pollen plus oil for i think £190 delivered, the cars quite new to me, i fitted all the filters in about 1 hour, saving me a nice few quid and now i know they are all new no matter what the services say. Just stick with what it says in the book, if you can do it yourself the money you save you can buy more polish.
On the diesel the fuel filter is a Mann has the mercedes number and underneath the Mann brand and number. They are £48 on Amazon

Just for the part? Or including labour?

I done a bit digging online . Here you go . My prices were a tad inflated.

Replace air filter element £70.20
Replace fuel filter £124.44
Automatic transmission: Carry out oil and filter change (with transmission 722.9 - NAG2-FE+) £380.21

£380.21 from a main dealer for replacing ATF and filter on the 7g+ is not half bad.......

I have found that for my type of servicing I purchased a service plan offered by Mercedes. To date I have no complaints from the service I have received.I do however take my car to have a 6 month service at a local Audi specialist.I ask them to change the engine oil / filter but leave all other filters alone as I pay for them in my service plan.

I could not service my car correctly but I would point out that when I last looked many insurance companies as part of the policy insist that cars are maintained to manufactures specification.

Interesting topic. For Air filter, I have seen their is a measurement to check air flow in iCarsoft scanner but I could be wrong if it relates to air filter. Can someone confirm if my understanding is correct and if yes, what should be the measurement.

Buying MB filters can be expensive, i bought my filters and oil from MB Newcastle of ebay and there was a very good saving with there service packages. Check it out, i prefer to put in MB then you know its right, others will say they are made by others so buy others. The game is you pay your money and take your choice, but if i buy MB i can sleep at night knowing they are right for the job. i think the service kit worked out about £60 or £70 cheaper. As Scotty kilmer says oil and filters are cheap, engines are dear. (just saying)
Hi , spot on

On the om651 engine how often do you guys change the air and fuel filters?
According to mercedes it every 4 years or 60k.
Should you stick to years if mileage is low I average 8k with plenty of long runs
Thanks
The Mercedes ESS says every 3 years.

I wonder why every 3 years, do they perish ?
I only do 15,000 miles in 3 years.

only had my 2010 e350cdi estate 6 months, had an A service carried out by local indie at 50.000 miles, Good condition report with no concerns(car has come from japan after 11years) with a view to B service including auto box oil and filter at end of this year, Just replaced dpf pressure sensor and had to remove rh filter box for access, so while it was out had a look at air filter, pic below, genuine MB parts with Mann pt, no aswell, got replacements from Eurocarparts perfect fit and quality looks good £30.39 for the pair. Milage now 54,300miles, car looks like new underneath! Service book I have states 75,000kms/4 years for air filter change.

The new om642 set up doesn't get no where near as dirty as those flat panel filters . I wonder if it's because they are vertical and not horizontal. ??

my engine is 642.850 and the filters are mounted vertically, which ones are you referring to?

This type , sorry I had a blonde moment there , I remember now , changing them on my w219 CLS . Those horrible air boxes at the side . Ghastly set up . Yes they do sit vertically.
