Which is the best site for checking hpi/mileage/previous accident damage:dk:

I've used https://www.autocheck.co.uk/ the past few times.

1 check for £20 or 5 checks for £25. The checks also look to be more comprehensive than some cheaper services.

For what it's worth they won an AutoExpress award in 2008.

Thanks Will, think i will use them, money well spent if it reveals anything suspicious:eek:

Experian, although I dont know if they offer a service for general public.

Therwise AA or RAC i guess.
Just ran an experian autocheck Jay,came back all clear but said no mileage details available, does this mean the mileage is probably correct & hasn't been clocked?

No it just means no mileages have been recorded when the owner has bought road tax etc. Its a very crude system when it comes to mileage.

The best way to verify mileage is to get the reg number and last MOT number and check the history on here.

Motoring : Directgov - MOT history request

Then cross reference the mileages here with any service history.

Thanks for the added info Jay,cars not 3 years old until 20th december so no mot to check against, have e-mailed mb for a copy of the electronic service sheet & on the plus side the dealer had an inspection report (dated 20/09/10)available to me (after the car was returned early from a lease agreement)which showed the mileage as being 18,785(now on 18,856)
