I hope I can explain myself clearly here! When I refer to another webpage in a thread, I cut and paste the http://www. address straight into the post. Some people are clever and manage to hide the full webpage link into a single word. So, how do you do that please?

Thanks.

you need to use a bit of code

disregard all the spaces

[ u r l = http : w w w etc for the link ]your word for the link [ / u r l ]

I find it easy to just use the globe icon on the full reply screen. You just paste the link in and then type whatever reference/label you want for it :)

Will

I was hoping someone would ask that question:D :D :D

I can not for the life of me post any pictures into the threads though....
Any help would be much appreciated;)

It's easier to type the full text you want then highlight the word or words to hyperlink, then click on the globe symbol and add the link.

For pictures use the little Mountain symbol and post a link to the picture or use 'manage attachments' and browse your storage, then upload.

Although I'm not sure I can advise you of this as I'm not fully qualified....

Thank you.
I found the correct area!
However, when I try to upload an image (jpeg photograph) I get the message "the image you are trying to upload is larger than the 148kb allowed on this forum"
The image I tried to upload was 1.15mb.
Is there a way of reducing the image to 148kb?

Looking at BTB'S Puppy images, they would be quite a large file size I should think, so I wonder if I am missing something:confused:

Any help much appreciated.
Paul.

I have MS office and the picture manager has a limited editing suite that I use to compress pics to web page size

Didn't think YOU would help me after the knitting weekly bit:D

Much obliged;)

my guess is that BTB uses an external host - either his own site, photobucket or similar and then you can link to images on there using [ img ] your images url [ /img ] tags

Did try photobucket a long time ago and had problems IIRC.

I'll have another look at it.

Many Thanks
Paul.
