Bought my daughter a Hyundai i10 1.2auto.

Extremely roomy for size of car(similar size to VW up), I am a just touch short of 6ft tall and can sit quite comfortably at the rear with ample headroom.

Very impress, only downside is the tyre noise, otherwise virtually silent at town speed.

I wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking for similar size cars :thumb:

Mrs. Stratman has just bought a year old manual one. Very nice little car, well equipped too.

£20 VED is nice as well

Two years ago I rented i30 from Sixt at Munich airport and spent 3 days driving it through Germany.
I remember that I was very pleased with interior quality and space although there was 4 of us, all adults. Performance was not so impressive, at least not for autobahn, I think it was 1.6 petrol, but general impression was that it was an excellent car for up to 100-150 mile routes. For commute even better.
It felt very solid built with lot of gadgets and good size compartments.
I believe that i10 is even more agile and that your daughter will be very happy with it. I've never heard any horror story about i-series.

I have the Kia equivalent. 1.2 engine is a cracker!
Oh and ZERO road tax is a bonus.

Agree on the tyre noise - I will be looking for quieter ones next time, but at 21k there is still plenty of life left.

The i10 is a great little car to drive, a lot of fun, just a bit too much grip and tyre noise.
The spec levels are good, I had heated seats and steering wheel, plus alloys that remind me of the XR3 four leaf clovers! very grown up for a small car.

I had to give my i10 back because it hit the mileage limit. Im currently stuck in an i20 which I really do not like.

My other half has had an I 10 from new and it is now 4 years old with just under 5,000 miles on the clock. Two months ago she said "what are these switches for?" They were the heated seat switches.
Great little car for the money.

A friend that I play guitar with at church picked me up in his i10, I was quite impressed with it after being used to my W204.

We've got one of the new generation i10s. Its the 1.0 and its a nice place to be. It has all kinds of equipment including tyre pressure sensors and cruise control as standard and also has a "linguatronic" head unit that works really well. Its very quiet at speed, but can be a bit jerky when crawling in traffic.
5 years of servicing for about £600 and a 5 year warranty.

Whats not to like!

Hyundai was never even remotely on my radar until we went to Fiat dealer looking at the Fiat500, next door to the dealer was the Hyundai, so we popped in for a quick look, and the rest was history as you say..

Managed to twist the dealer's arm, and got £400 off, threw in 3 yr servicing and gap insurance! Oh and free spare wheel/tyre worth 50 quid :D
