I.E. Users watch out

I'm still using Netscape 7.1 in XP and Mozilla in Linux. Heard good things about Firefox though. Any reason why the name was changed from Firebird?

S.

p.s. I've never used IE, not because of its interface or looks etc. but mainly due to the fact it's such a liability to use security wise.

Also prudent not to use Outlook/Outlook Express as these are more vunerable too due to their popularity and ease of spreading nasties.

Just downloaded firefox and giving it a whirl,Doesnt seem too bad so far.

Same here.

I use a combination of Opera (favoured - love the tabbed windows), Firefox and IE. I only use IE because some sites insist on it - NatWest online banking and Hostway for two (although just tried NatWest and Firefox now works; Opera still doesn't ("service denied: unsupported browser")

As a webdev, I've finally given up on trying to get sites to work with Netscape 4.79 :D

Same here too, we will see.

Seems slower at the moment.

It really gripes me that someone with so many billions of pounds at thier disposal and such a strangle hold on the computer OS industry can employ people who always seem to make software that has got more bugs in it than my cat after a rummage through the under growth

EDIT: I think I just answered part of my question there! Its because he's got a strangle hold on the operating systems,People have to buy them, then they have too keep upgading all the time, which costs people thier hard earned pennys  And makes him richer!

There is freedom of choice , no one has to run windows.

As soon as someone comes up with a viable alternitive , they will use it..

Till then , here is microsoft.
