AMG A45
Four days since I picked up the A45 and I am loving it so far. Couple of snidey comments from work colleagues but really not bothered about that. Came out of work tonight, opened the car with the key (keyless go thing bit intermittent at the mo), key went in bag which I put on the back seat, closed door and went to open driver's door - locked. All doors locked! What the hell is that all about?! Presumably keyless go decided to work and locked me out but would not open again :fail. Had to call other half to fetch spare key whilst I stood guard in case it opened again. Think I'll be hanging onto the key in future

My keyless go won't allow the car to be locked by any method if the key is IN the car or the boot. But its a cls55 so an older system I expect. I love keyless go but find it really hard for the first few days with a car without it. So used to just pulling the door handle. Just get it fixed. You'll love it once its working correctly.

Still possible to be locked out, if you have the electric boot option.

Seen someone locked out of their S55 (04 plate).

When the car was in a locked state, the person just opened the boot only via the handle. The key was in the bag and placed in the boot and the person pressed the boot closure button (not the lock and close button), as such, locked the person out.

I've done similar with my A45, opened the boot keyless put my work bag in, Put key in bag and closed boot.

Walked to drivers door and it was locked, boot was still locked but luckily it detected my key and opened when I grabbed the handle.

Lesson learnt my key is always in my pocket now.

Serves you right for being with the times! Peasants like myself still have to turn the key to go :(

You need to get your Mercedes Me working, and then you could unlock it from your phone.
Assuming it's not in your bag of course!

I thought the system wouldn't let the car lock if the key was inside the car?

It's easier for the ladies to get in a pickle as most will carry a hand bag (key in bag).

You do know that that car could have been unlocked by your better half sitting at home via your mobile phones? Google it for details.

Weirdly keyless go has worked perfectly since the incident, but I intend keeping the key in my pocket from now on!
