I should never have sold it!

E46 M3 with 22k on the clock.. SOLD in 2012 for 11k.. look at the prices now if low miles and low owners.. hightsight wonderful.

E36 M3 Evo... Don't regret selling any cars really but I regret selling that one so soon - they were fabulous and at 321BHP, pretty nippy in 2000 with not a lot of cars running silly power.

Sold because I was buying a new flat on my own and I didn't want to be in a difficult position.

In hindsight, it would have been fine but everything is always easy in hindsight!

Only the people I sold them to !

Three for me.
1987 sapphire black BMW 325i Sports, rare as hens teeth now unmolested.
1990 TVR V8S
1998 TVR Griffith 500

1984 Ford Capri 2.0S
1984 Ford Capri 2.8i

Interior in the 2.8 looked like it had never been sat in. 92k miles when I sold it.

Looks like it was a great car John. I had a look at the Mot history hoping it’s still on the road but doesn’t appear to have had an MOT since 2012 so looks like it’s been scrapped :-(

It was tested in 2014 but the list of the failures was one of the longest I’ve ever seen!!! Such a shame :(

Most of the cars I've had I don't regret selling, but two stand out.
'92 Jag XJ6 Sovereign. Lovely car for wafting around. Had it a long time at 8 years and then sold it on a whim. Miss it sometimes..

But financially I should never have sold my '79 Maserati Khamsin. Bought it needing work in the mid 80s for the ridiculous sum of £10K and started sorting the hydraulics. Then I got fed up with the on going project and cashed it in with a friend of mine who loved it and had some cash to burn. He's still got it and it's worth about £150K!! What a mistake! Lovely looking car too!

Not the actual car, but the same colour etc :)

Yes, I knew about it and strangely quoted it recently in another thread:

Which E Class would you choose?

It was absolutely mint when I sold it at 4.5 years old - the car is a 1997 so subsequent owners have really not taken car of it which as you say is a shame. It had a couple of not-so-common options on it too.

As it happens, I know the old girl hasn't (or at least wasn't) scrapped. Someone found me on a BMW forum as I posted the plate up for another reason as they bought it to do up and wanted to know what I knew of the history.

However, I think given that list of failures, they lost the will to live and sold it as the guy told me it was bought by a motor racing team in Sussex I understand.

So my guess is, and hopefully this is the case, they fixed the problems with it themselves and now the old girl is being raced on a circuit as a retirement!

They might have used parts off it to use on a 328i Sport or similar thought having said that (which is apparently quite common I understand) as the bits are quite valuable (like the OEM LSD).

I still have many pictures and great memories of that car and I suspect if I owned it now, it would be disappointing performance-wise but by god did that thing handle well.

I wish I hadn’t sold my C32 AMG nor my Toyota MR2, both great cars, both with wonderful memories attached. I wouldn’t buy another C32, but another MR2, that’s much more tempting....

Regret selling only two cars, first my lovely 1963 Thrup and Mapperly bodied Humber Imperial, looked beautiful and drove very nicely . The second was my XJR V8, in a sea green metallic colour with ivory leather , was my first and last experience of a supercharged engine, cost me £1000 a month depreciation and that was in 2000 , it had to go when I moved to Jersey

I’ve got a huge classic car price guide published by Octane magazine back in 2011 giving all the prices of vehicles produced from 1945-1990.
Reading it will bring you to tears.

If anybody has any questions on car prices from that year I’d be happy to let you know.

How much were Ferrari 360s back then for say a 2001/2002/2003/2004 hard tops back then?

My memory of them is they were not too bad (it was the time I was considering my E55K) and have only recently climbed stupidly since then.

For some reason it doesn’t have any 360s but a Testrossa would’ve cost you £45000 and an F40 a paltry £375000

It seems a lot of used cars prices have gone a bit "London housing market" where people pay silly money hoping someone else will pay more - and they only seem to be going one way!

Exactly.
A Lancia Integrale EVO2 would’ve emptied your wallet of £13000.
My mate has one and reckons he can get £60000 all day.

3 cars i wish i still had to this day, they were all the same model but all slightly different, mk1 fiesta rs supersport, worth so much today

I do have cars that I do *miss* (like my Maserati QP, E55K, C36, XFR +) and but none I really regret because it was the right decision at the time.

Here are a few that i still wished id kept, sorry theres quite a lot:D
