Hi All
My icarsoft CR Max arrived today and after plugging it in to check it out I found a couple of historical fault codes on my 2011 GL. It was running ok and no warning lights so I cleared the faults but I have two which have remained and I’m now getting the fault message of Pre Safety unavailable in messages on the dash. Could this be all linked or just coincidence that the message popped up on the dash after I cleared the historical faults?

The attached pics show the only faults the icarsoft can find.

The car drives fine and everything seems to work as per before including the seatbelt tensioners so any idea how I clear this or at least this message on the dash?

The other thing which doesn’t seem right is it’s telling me theDPF was last regenerated 82kmiles ago! The car is on 89k. But it only has 1g of soot in the dpf. Can that be right? I don’t want to find a problem where there isn’t one but it does seem a bloody long time for it to not have done a regen?
Thanks for any insights
Andy

Does seem a bit of a coincidence. The fact the icarsoft can’t communicate with the module may be an issue with the reader rather than the car. Have you checked if there are any updates for it? The car will only trigger a regen if soot builds up in the dpf. During optimal running conditions soot should not build up so no regen required. Or it’s telling you porkies, has been known.

Yeah I think they may be related. The icarsoft though is now showing all codes cleared and no faults, the pre Safe is still coming up unavailable though in messages on the car although I have noticed the seatbelts have also stopped doing there tensioning thing so think that must be related as well?

In regard to the dpf I can’t really fault how it’s running and was just taking a look out of interest really it now shows 0g of soot in the DPf so like you say it’s either really good at keeping clean or the reader is a liar! It’s the latter I’m leaning toward to be honest!

Might need Star then to find out what is upsetting the pre safe system.

Check settings within the steering wheel options for pre safe to see if it's turned on / off .

If it's on. Try giving the main battery a good charge .
