Hi all, I've invested in an iCarsoft for my C-Class, a used one. I've plugged it in, works, starts up and did a quick scan with no issues.

I'm just looking for a little help on going into the model specific section as to what to select? I can see C(204), but I want to make sure this is the right one for my car, then it goes to a further sub-section with 204.01 etc, so how do I know which is the correct one for my car?

The manual is a bit "translated" to read and it shows the flows, but obviously, some bits like that are just covered with "select your car". is there a bit more of a comprehensive list or guide as to which model is which? some better user guides links would be helpful as well maybe? Not just for myself, but others who want to get the best from one of these? I know there's a fault code list pinned, which is super helpful, this is more about setting up and getting the right menus for your motor if that makes sense?

Thanks in advance

Look up you car's VIN, either on the V5 or at the base of the windscreen on the passenger side. It'll start WBD204xxx, with the xxx being the next subsection.

Something I fell foul of is my car being in a facelift year. ALthough it's a 2004 registration, because it's a pre-facelift iCarsoft considers it a 2003. Worth noting if your car is a facelift year model.

Something I've mentioned before, including in the other code reader thread today, is that my old £35 Creader vi automatically detects make and model, something the much more expensive iCarsoft CR Pro doesn't do. It must be possible with a software update as it can find the VIN. From there a lookup table does the job.

Excellent, thanks. Top tip!
