Immobiliser?

Help guys & gals, '96 C250TD, the symptoms are on turning key in ignition, no starter solenoid.

Jumping the solenoid, no start, no fuel coming through.

Is this what you'd expect from a faile immobiliser?

Any other suggestions?

Can you not manually turn the immobiliser off, say with a key?

No, MB unit, no override - unless someone can tell me how please!!!!!!!!!!!!
