Mercedes C220 2014 estate (w205)
Hi,
First time posting, so i hope this has gone into the right section!

i have a 2014 Mercedes C220 Estate (which i believe is also called the w205?) this evening when driving home my headlights came on as usual (they are always on auto) however my instrument cluster remained dim. I tried turning it up using the dial to the right of the light switch but it didn't do anything. My outside temperature reading on the instrument cluster screen showed no reading but just 2 dashes. I'm sure the two must be linked may be a fuse ?

Would be really greatful if any of you have any ideas what might be causing this !

Thanks for taking the time to read, i look forward to any replies.

quick update... after getting home and fiddling about with the instrument lights i turned the car on again and the engine management light came on aswell! (it never rains and all that...) luckily i have a obd ii reader, i plugged it in and it gave the code U0423 which is "Invalid data revieved from instrument panel cluster control module" so the problem lies with the electrics. after unplugging the obd ii reader i had to start the car to move it and unbelieveably the instrument cluster was as bright at the north star with the correct tempurature showing! A gremlin!!
have left the engine light on as the car is in for its mot next week and will get the garage to just check it over..

i thought i'd let you know incase it helps anyone else who has the same symptoms. will update when i hear what the garage thinks it might be !

cheers,
Bristan
