Interesting SL500

A forum member pointed me in the direction of this little jem

1992 MERCEDES BENZ SL CLASS SL500 SL 500 auto AMG V8 on eBay (end time 31-Jan-10 16:13:11 GMT)

Does anyone think this looks good for the price? To me it looks very cheap, but maybe it's the steal of the year? (it was imported into the UK in June 09)

Hmm - is it that cheap though?

Disregard the mileage as it's an import. Nothing wrong with that, but is it that much better value than other UK early/old R129s.

I'd rather spend a bit more for a later UK one personally. Why not have a look at it if you like it though?

Mine are shiny too, only done 76K. The leather on the SL seats is very hard to touch, not like nappa...

Might be worth a look - though it's clocked IMO.

Wheels aren't genuine either.

The only thing that might mean the mileage is genuine is that it's Japanese. My Nissan only had a few thousand kms on it as do most of the Japanese cars imported into Russia. They don't seem to do much mileage there.

Apart from the dubious mileage it will probably have no service history.

So be careful!

As Will said, I'd prefer to spend a little more on a UK car with a known background.
