Anyone got any experience of this? I don't usually need to send/receive faxes, but I do need access to faxing facilities for a short while (one of the people I need to chase for compensation after the volcanic ash debacle works by fax). I've seen various online providers, at various costs/length of commitment, and wondered if any MBClubbers had personal experience I could benefit from? Either Mac or PC platform is OK.

TIA

Peter

I used to have something called faxSTF , if memory serves , it was OS9 though and don't think there was an OSX version - I haven't looked .

I use something called RKS fax, it's a virtual printer so any program can see it, it does though use the PC modem and 'phone line so not 100% internet only, but it has served me well for 18 months.

PXW, Bonny's internet cafe opposite Argos (more or less) does faxing. Used him last week. Nice coffee too :)

I send using pc modem as a fax "printer"
To receive, I use Holding Page who issue a number (0871 type) and then forward the faxes by e-mail.
They have a variety of accounts.

Thanks John - I know Bonny's, and very little comes between me and a decent coffee. Didn't realise they did faxes too :thumb:

If you only need to send a few every now and again, you can email them to me and I'll fax for you, you can also get faxes sent to me and I'll get them scanned and mailed back. PM me if u want to ...

I use voipfone, which is fully via the internet, sends as an e mail with the fax as a .doc attachment, faxes arrive as a tiff image. not had a phone line here for years. also works well via mobile type connections. free inbound 10 p outbound. no long term commitment / costs.
