Hi,

Got a new iPhone 16 Pro Max at Xmas and since then I can't get a good bluetooth connection with my 60 plate W212 - constant stuttering like a CD skipping. It might work ok for a few moments, but then back to stuttering.

I thought it was a problem with my new phone, but I don't have bluetooth issues with my bluetooth headphones - and it also happens on my other NTG 4.0 based 59 plate W212, with my brother's iPhone 8 and the iPhone 12 Pro Max that was previously mine / I upgraded from. My brother has a B-Class and an X1 and has no issues with these devices.

I've tried resetting iOS network settings, I've tried unpairing and deleting everything from both the car and the phone a million times. No difference.

I haven't seen anybody post about it here so I assume it's not prevalent, but I'm suspecting some kind of security update in iOS has caused this as it's happening on multiple W212 cars with multiple devices.

I've unplugged any Usb chargers or devices from the car in case of interference - no difference.

Any ideas / similar experience?

Cheers

Have you tried another phone with the car recently /since, to rule out an issue with the car.?

And whilst you have reset your phone, have you actually turned it off and again, fully?

Just completing the 'tick list' of obvious fixes ...

Yes, I've been tried with my brother's the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 8. And yes, everything has been reset, turned off / on again etc. Plus, it happens with those phones on the other W212 too, which is in London (I'm in Cardiff mostly).

Someone on an Apple forum has a 2014 E-Class and is also complaining of the same thing.... my car had full MBSH up until a year ago so you'd imagine it has the most up to date software on there. Though, they probably don't even bother to check.

Cheers

No, it wouldn't. Firmware/software updates for cars of that era are chargeable and not done routinely during servicing (unless there's a recall).

Your car's infotainment system may already have the latest software, I do not know, but either way it is not related to MBSH.

Have you ruled out interference from another Bluetooth device? E.g., a Bluetooth Dongle, etc?
