Is insurance quote fair or can I do better?

Car
1999 W210 E55 AMG
Moneysupermarket quoted £860 fully comp on 1999 AMG E55 for me, (51), with my son, (30) as a named driver.
Can't use my no claims as already use it on my taxi.
My son has zero no claims and has a DR10 on his licence, with works van.
Will only do about 2-3000 miles a year between us.
Does this sound reasonable or can anyone suggest alternative specialists.
Thx, Daz.
Tried searching the site but my tablet won't allow it.:wallbash:

Im possible to say as it we have no idea of where you live, do you live in a rough neighbourhood or nice? alot of Car crime in your area? is it garaged?

If you have got the quote from the comparison sites, call the company direct who gave you the best quote and do a new quote with them. I did it with mine and the quote was about 15% cheaper direct.

Try one of the classic car brokers, a telephone call can often bring a much better result :)

Quite.

Can't you use a broker or multi car insurer who will mirror your no claims on both cars ?

I didn't think it was possible to have your no claims on more than one vehicle but I happy (hoping) to be corrected.

Also I have found that street parking is cheaper than having it garaged

Quite common, it's called mirroring.

Add your wife to the policy.

Be gutted when she sees the car.
Area I live in was lovely till we moved in.
Will enquire about "mirroring".

Admiral definitely do it ( but you have to phone) but any good broker should be able to arrange something.

Many insurers will restrict the mirroring of NCB to conviction (and claim) free risks.

Do Adrian Flux not have anything to do with the forum any more?

Edit- FWIW, my E55k and BMW 323 are on a family fleet policy with Oak, about a grand a year. I'm 43, no adverse history. Well not driving anyway ;)

Update:
Just insured the car through my taxi broker.
£890 tpf&t with windscreen, legal and trackday cover.:bannana:
Mirrored my taxi no claims.
Found cheaper quotes but feedback on those companies not good.
Let the fun begin.

One could add a claim free, clean licence, professional, decent age partner/girlfriend onto their policy - who doesn't exist - she would never drive the car so no risk of a claim. And premium would be lower.

(I'm married, my wife exists, and is on my policy but never drives my car hence the above thought)
