Basic rules for insurance........
The Insured will pay a premium commensurate to the risk he brings to a common pool.
So as your car is more expensive to insure - is faster than a standard car - the premium must reflect this extra risk.
To know it is a "modified" car and not declare it COULD (not would) nullify your insurance. Obviously 3rd party personal liabilities will always be honoured, but the insurance company COULD then come after you for reparations.
So by not declaring it you COULD not only be technically uninsured but also find more than the value of the car is at risk.
Sorry if this sounds doom and gloom - but it really isn't worth the risk of not declaring. Also you will find that you have to declare anything whether you consider it relevant or not. It is not your job to underwrite the risk but the insurers.
