i was thinking to instal a boost gauges in my car ( cl203 ) oil tempeture , turbo boost and voltage but i was wondering if they are legal in uk

Yes they are legal

Torque on an Android could do the voltage, turbo boost and much more, but I haven't seen it do oil temperature on any of mine.
The Torque download is free, pro is only a few quids. The BT for the OBD (EML327) sender would be less around £5.

I'm not sure what other apps would make use of the unit.
There are many EML327's and at different prices. A few years ago some of these were duds and useless but of late I've had a number of the cheap (approx) £5) units and they have done all I expected.
I run mine on a 9" HU and flip from Sat Nav or whatever to Torque (Pro) whenever I want to monitor the engine, or indeed any of the other readouts.

I run 3 dashboard screens, one I use to monitor altitude, GPS speed and instant MPG to find the vehicles sweet spot for economy. I have turbo boost on that screen also.
1 screen is monitoring some of the engine sensors.
The other is more general info such as temperature, altitude, a big clock and a few more read outs.

Torque will register some simple faults and reset them.
Once you have paid for the pro version your account allows for it on any registered Android device.

Asking the legal question reminds me of one of those highway cop programmes on TV, I think it was New Zealand where a cop had pulled a young lad over in a wreck of a car and his big problem was that the car had appeared to have been lowered, must be illegal over there. Imagine they bought that law in over here !!!

On the 'Highway' in the USA yesterday. two signs I saw made me think 'Modified exhaust prohibited area' then a few miles later 'modified exhaust prohibited area ends' What the fukc are you supposed to do between the signs if you have a modded exhaust (and MANY here do) get out and push ? :dk:

The next one ' DUI (driving under the influence) test area'.....so does that mean the rest of the highway is booze friendly ?

They are an odd bunch over here.

Up here in Derbyshire we have 'Motorcycle Accident Zones', I thought there were enough bikes coming to grief up here without the authorities dedicating areas specifically for that. Go figure.

I love extra gauges and fitted these to my GT4 years ago when I was a young boy racer, I'm now an old one! LOL

For IOS you need a Bluetooth 4.0 LE version.
I bought one but no longer need it as I have a iCarsoft now but it does work fine with various apps.

It works with both android and IOS. You can have for a few quid.
