Is there something wrong?

I have recently bought a C200k w203. Iv noticed that the front end seems to be alot higher than the back. Iv had looked at a few more c classes and I haven't seen any others like it. The back end is sat so the wheel sits nicely with the arch but the front end from the tyre to the arch there is a gap of about 3 to 4 inches. Has anyone else had this and have I got a problem somewhere? Thanks Jamie

3 to 4 inchs is a lot. What model car is it, what engine is in it, have any mods ben done to it and any chance of some photos from the side on showing the whole car on a level surface? cheers

Does it have auto levelling suspension? If it does does it still look the same after it has been running?

Wrong replacement front springs/ pads or broken rear springs?

agree..i would have a look at the springs, shocks and rubber shim pads.

compare the pads that sit on top of the springs and distinguish via the rubber bumps on them (seen on the edges of the pads. The more bumps you have the thicker the pad.

pretty sure these will be the same as the 124 but you can get upto 4 bumps front and max of three bumps rear.

It's a c200 kompressor on a 2000. It hasn't had any mods done to it And I don't think the springs have been replaced on the front as I bought the car off a family member who's had it for about 7 years before me. I'll try and get a picture to upload.

Quite probably broken rear springs then. Often go unnoticed even escape MOT inspections. Did the car have to drive over lots of speed bumps or often have heavy loads in the boot during its former ownership?

No it has only every carried two people on short journeys to work and back and it has never carried any heavy loads. The car did have something wrong with the suspension on the back as it used to make a "ping" sound when the back suspension was compressed. One rear spring was replaced as it had snapped, this was done roughly 10000miles ago.

Still worth checking imho.
