Jammed Sunroof

This swedish company is massively disliked by most swedish MB owner.
People tend to avoid them like plague.

It's a crying shame they have MB brand under their wings. đź‘Ž
Agree- Mercedes ran the service themselves before - and now it’s hedin , who are playing middle-man and badly too

Sorry to hear of your problems. Were there any clues that something was amiss before it jammed, like slow movement or noises?

I know (from experience) that it’s frustrating however the main dealer and the warranty provider are completely separate businesses, and neither are Mercedes.

The main dealer can’t underwrite the risk that the 13 hours of labour for investigation will be rewarded by the repair being approved by the warranty company.

If you don’t feel comfortable underwriting that risk, then why would the dealer? The reward is small too as warranty repairs are paid at a much lower rate than consumer.

Apologies if that’s not what you want to hear but that’s the reality of the situation. You could try a Mercedes approved independent bodyshop for a quote.
Can’t imagine pulling a sunroof off is a 13 hours job tbh & wished MB offered extended manufacture warranty for a cost , rather than this half—baked product .
Having said that- I’ve saved some money by fixing some issues under it

I would describe this company more like a thorn in my side.
The owner is the richest automotive dealer in Europe, he has no love for his business, only love for making money

The dealer will be using the worst-case labour estimates in the system for disassembly, diagnosis, reassembly and perhaps an allowance for repair, so that their risk is covered, ie you’ve agreed to that amount before they start.

It could end up being much less, and there could be no cost at all if it’s covered by the warranty. Assuming you have purchased the Mercedes-Benz extended warranty then “Sunroof cables” are excluded, and hence the possibility that the warranty may not cover the repair.

Was there not a recall on sunroof cables or am I misremembering?
