Jay Leno's Review of the Mercedes EQC

It's fookin ugly, but that's nothing to do with its power train i suppose, and most "crossovers" are dodgy looking so it doesn't have much competition in the looks department! :D

My overall impression is that Mercedes have been very clever to 'normalise' the electric car.
This could be a 2021 GLE in function and form.
Every expectation for a normal car is met, for instance you put the fuel in where you expect, under the bonnet is what you might expect to see, the cabin is simply a quieter version of what we have been accustomed to.
The technology is extraordinary, but it does not shout 'I'm electric!'
Battery technology and infrastructure is still a little behind the electric car technology, but given what we can see from this car, it will just have to catch up.

This is the very first electric car that I could see myself wanting to own.

I like it :) We were looking to replace the wife's GLA with a GLC this year, maybe hold out to see how the EQC is received. Its also the only other EV/Hybrid that I would like to own (the other being the i8 LOL). Times are changing and its time to clean up and switch to EV's I guess. I will miss not owning a V8 though :(

Best,
Pete

According to this 2019 Mercedes EQC SUV price, specs and release date | carwow ---- early 2019. But if Tesla is anything to go by then Mercedes will open for pre-orders/deposits then there will be the time to build/ production wait followed by delivery. This time delay may be considerable depending on demand and how quickly they can ramp up production to meet it. AND eventually they may even get round to making a RHD version.;)

And then it will crab like something out of SpongeBob Square pants.
