Hi all, I've been browsing on here for a couple of months now and finally came round to registering!
Where do I start? Well I've always been a mercedes enthusiast, that's for sure. Anyway, I was washing my slk earlier on and thought heck I might as well just put some pics up of it here and see what you guys think?

I do like that, normally not a fan of black wheels either!

I do think the rear lights are overly dark though. :)

As a R172 SLK 55 AMG owner the only bit of the car I hate are the wing badges, I really need to know the best way to get rid of them. However I feel that the 6.3 litre badges on this car are even a further step too far, the rest of the car looks great.

And the window tints look way too dark as well, but it's good to see the block paving is staying weed free.

Thanks for the comments guys, appreciate it.
@RR yeah i agree with you, originally the car came with no badges on the sides (as standard) and the rear didn't have slk55 on it, when the car went into the bodyshop I told them to order the badges and they ordered the wrong ones! I just need to get round to changing them back to 55 when I can.
@dieselman the tints are totally legal, I think the pic makes them look a bit darker than what they are. And haha thanks, I like to keep on top of it :)
Thanks, ill post some more pics when I can

@dieselman yeah they have a film on the, I had 25% all round, if I bought one with cream interior then I would have gone a shade lighter however all my cars have the same tints all round. Never been stopped by police for them either. Thanks

Probably time to have words and get them to sort out their mess up... ;)

I notice your Reg plate starts with BS...

@dieselman when I had these tints first fitted to one of my cars about 6 years ago the guy told me that they are borderline, they can be deemed as illegal but as they are not darker than 25% they can be seen as legal. I've never been questions by authority about the tints, as long as it stays like that I'm happy :)

Agree with others on black wheels, they do look good, normally I don't like them. That said I'm not a fan of the bolts.......you'll be getting through a few toothbrushes!

Side badges should definitely go.

Standard tinted glass is on the 70% limit, so adding any film at all will definitely make them illegal.

You might not be so happy when Plod gets a Tintman out.

@ianA2 thanks mate, people do seem to like these wheels, I think it's because you wouldn't normally assume a slk to sl65 wheels on it, especially ones which have been painted black rather than orginal graphit (brave move lol)
Yeah I see what you mean, I just thought that they give the car a nice stance and make it look wider when on the road. Thanks

@dieselman wow that's true I never even considered that. But if that does happen, I'll just have to take them off :)

Incredible...glad to have been of assistance.

Did I say, I noticed your reg plate starts with BS... :)

@Dieselman Yes you did, point being?
