Just had to drive my C63 to the tip with the boot open a bit.

Car
2013 C63 estate
And now I've had to start this thread so we can all think of other excuses to drive with the boot open again.

I mean this car sounds ace from inside... but it sounds utterly unbelievable when you can hear the exhausts directly. Popping and burbling and crackling, it was awesome. And I was only trickling along, since I didn't want to deposit the stuff in the boot onto the road.

The alternative is I need to pay someone to drive it for me, while I am towed along behind in some kind of chariot device.

I’ve had people video me before but it just doesn’t sound anything like it does in the flesh. I had mine serviced today and the fella that done the service took it round the block. It’s actually the first time I’ve herd my car from outside so to speak and it sounded completely different. Mine has no primaries or secondary cats so it pretty loud to lol.

My dads 86. He still works 6 days a week as a mechanic. Owns his own garage. He owns various cars but every one of them has a straight through exhaust lol. It’s the first thing he does when he gets a new car. Guess your born to either love or hate it.

I used to drive round with all my windows down in my last car to hear more of the sound.

No matter what you do, it sounds best when someone else is driving it away.

Noisy cars are anti-social, and those modified to be even more noisy are stupidly anti-social. The sooner we have police with noise monitoring equipment checking, seizing and crushing anything in that category, the better....

Or fold the seats in the Saloon. I guess a drop top C63 W204 would sound even better, had they made one!

You know that some SUVs have a rear window which can be wound down? They should do them for estates which sound excellent to allow the driver to get the full effect.

To those saying I should have bought an estate and folded the seats down ... I do have an estate, and I did have the seats folded down.

Unless it's like my Civic Type R - that was driven away after a car jacking :( ;)

Sorry to hear that chap...

Hopefully no one was hurt?

Had to drive it again today with the boot open a little - transporting two new massive shelving units for the garage from Costco (a pretty hot buy, by the way - they're very large and very sturdy, and £150 each instead of £260 each elsewhere.)
This time involved motorways and A roads ... God this car sounds awesome. I think I might just remove the bootlid altogether.
