My 2005 cls amg55 seems to be down on power, I think that the clutch is not engaging, how do I check it and what could possibly cause this?

I think you have to be more analytic about the power loss. It may not be the blower. Is it a loss of power or torque? Can you hear the blower engage when you give it the right foot? Etc.

could be the HE pump

Get the codes read on STAR, saves a lot of guessing

Yes as above.

Had a similar issue on my C32 and turned out to be the Intake Air Temp sensor. Easy fix, £20 for a genuine MB part.

No I can't, and if i hold the black rotating cylinder behind the pulley it doesn't move when the engine is revved up, this is why I think the clutch isn't engaging.
