Hi,

I recently got a Vito 109 cdi 2007 and noticed shortly after that the injectors were covered in carbon. There was also a rattle in the exhaust which I was lead to believe was just the heatshield but later discovered that the exhaust needed replacing.

The garage I took it to, removed the loose part from the exhaust but didn't replace the part as far as I know. I've since noticed a lot of smoke in the van while driving and smoke out the back too. Could someone enlighten what has happened so I know what I'm talking about when I take it back to the garage?

Since having the exhaust worked on, the engine has been playing up too and has just stopped today for the first time.

Any suggestions what to do?

The carbon build up round the injectors indicate that they are leaking, hence smoke and fumes getting into the van.
you will need to have them sorted out

Yes, I thought so. I was wondering if it was the dpf that was removed, would that also be a cause of the increase of fumes in the vehicle?

Search for 'Black death' ...on the appropriate websites of course  (Legitstreetcars.com for example) And you will see why you need to fix any injector leaks...yesterday.

And if it has black smoke and no Dpf it will fail MOT. Let us know how you get on :thumb:
