Limp home mode ON

Engine light up....limp home mode seems to be on...E class 220cdi '2004.....I imagine this is the dreaded EGR valve....what steps should I take next other than getting it to a garage? Suggestion....polite ....appreciated.

You need a diagnostic check , do you have breakdown cover , they will scan it .

Welcome aboard as W1ghty has suggested get the codes read and if you have breakdown cover thats the cheapest way to find out

Hello and welcome . You have a 1991 560SEL ? You must be familiar with getting your MB checked . As said , get the codes read and let us know what they say.
