Help ?
Can anyone explain why my Vito does 300 mile in
one day then decided to go in limp mode for know reason .
I stop the van then it's fine .
Confused . Next question is how many miles to a tank is normal ?
Any help would very grateful :-)

Maybe a Vito owner will give you fuel consumption figures. The best way to get to the bottom of the vehicle going into limp is to get it connected to star and have the fault codes read

Average 35mpg over the last 30k (60 plate 113cdi), it has got a speed limiter at 77mph though but i don't exactly hang around! :)

agree with alf
does the engine light come on when its in limp mode?
its difficult to tell without the use of star to get a definitive reading
an obd2 reader will normally only come up with a generic code
with a w211 it could be that the turbo associated ecu actuator is playing up causing the turbo to be taken out of the equation (associated with a drop off in mpg)
could be a few things

Hi yes the engine light comes on .

If I turn the engine off and start again it's fine . It's done it three times in 800 miles ;-(
