Looking for help with my issue.

I have a 2006 SL 500. Recently, I've been experiencing problems with alternator/ battery error message. My mechanic said he doesn't believe it's the alternator. But to bring back in. At some point, the error message wouldn't show. It was maintaining a charge. Then it started again. I used my portable charger 7
and it worked. I went to start it one day and it was completely dead and the charger was completely ineffective. Triple A said it appears to be a fuse issue. Has anyone experienced this kind of issue before? Please advise.

You either have a faulty battery or alternator.

Some chargers will not work on a fully discharged battery.

Any competent garage can check both of the above.
