Well, I am 2 years into my amazing CLS ownership and now the time has come for some tweaking, all in the best possible taste of course ......

So, Lorinser tuning, with lowering and body kit . The question I have is whether anyone has done the front wing thing (they are pretty amazing) and how they match the white pearlecesent paint....... And are they steel ?

Watch this space ..... ;)

Marc

Hey Marc,

I'm not so keen on the recent Lorinser packs that includes this one the front end looks like it is trying to smile at you...don't know if it is just me that thinks that? The rest of it looks pretty good though especially the front arches love those. If I had a CLS I'd be headed down the Prior Design route, though that kit may seem overly aggressive for some.

That aside it will be a little tricky to do a perfect colour match with the pearlescent paint more than likely need the whole car (bar roof) painting since the kit is front bumper, front arches, sideskirts, rear bumper plus spoilers in order to allow the pearl effect to match in correctly.

Doubt the kit will be steel, more than likely fibre reinforced plastic or abs/pur plastic. Make sure you know of a good bodyshop to do the work, expensive kit and worth doing properly.

Good luck, looking forward to seeing updates on your CLS :)

Glad for your input as we seem to have similar taste ;)

I only want the wings, happy with all other aspects of AMG body kit .....

I have a budget which will create an awesome car, just need to cherry pick.... Ideas welcome ,....

Marc

The Prior Design pics look very tempting...... Will look into this...thanks

No problem, I think the wings will look great, more than likely will still need the whole side of the car painting to allow the pearl to blend in, possibly even the bonnet and front bumper just because of paint finish - you can almost always tell when a silver car has had paintwork done if it is just a panel or two and I know you won't want that for your CLS.

There are various avenues to explore, you've done the wheels already and don't imagine you'll be changing those? Plenty of options for rear bumper/diffuser inserts with the sport package.

I really do like the PD kit though there's a white one that was at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last month. Picture isn't the greatest but you get the idea of the kit on a white CLS.

My favourite for both the 218 and 219 is the Wald Black Bison kit

If its just wings you plan to fit ,blending doors and bumper is worst case scenario for colour match providing u use a good painter that's taken time His time to do shade cards etc ,most colours hav many variants it takes time to check which 1 matches each car best so painters take a chance often and hope for the best ,Iv done more silver cars than I can count and you wouldn't know they had been painted ,long story short use people that know what they are doing , pearlescent colours are common place now adays and DNt tend to be a problem

Paul

I contacted a Vendor last month for the Wald Black Bison Sports kit and he said it was a nightmare to fit so he was taking them off the shelve :dk:

quote "I've had far too many problems with Wald kits in the past if i'm honest, so not a brand we would get involved with again"

If I knew it would be a good fit I would order today
