Hi guys

I'm new to this forum! I bought my wife a 2007 W204 about a month ago and love it!
I bought a 2005 W203 about 5 years ago and put 80k miles on it in 2 years and found the servicing really expensive!!
Now my wife works part time so the mileage is back down to 15-20k miles a year.
The new car is well loaded and I can't believe how much I enjoy driving it. I've had Audi's over last 3 years and found the ride so hard for comfortable driving!!
The last Audi was a A5 cab on 20" wheels. I can't believe they could release a car with such bad ride quality!!
Anyway I've been searching through the forum and must say its fantastic to see all the advice from you guys!

Cheers

Hi - Interesting to hear your comment on ride quality, so you think its OK not to harsh?? I have a 530D sport that I am thinking of changing and getting a C class 2009 sport...

Interesting to read your comments about the 204 Sport, as I've just swopped from a 203 Elegance on 16's to a 204 Elegance also on 16's - did not look at Sports as they have 17's and firmer suspension - and us OAP's like our comfort! I do find the 16's a bit imprecise if I get enthusiastic with the loud pedal round our lanes, but for motorway wafting along they're really quiet and comfortable. The 204 is quite a step up from the C270 S203 we had for 3 1/2 years, even though that was a very good car. I am, however, not getting the mpg I thought I would - the S203 showed 45+ on the computer, the S204 is showing just over 40 - I expected better from the smaller engine (which has, funnily enough, about the same BHP as the 270!).

On ride quality, when I test drove the W204 I didn't notice a huge difference between the sport and elegance models. In the end I went for the sport and 8.5k miles later still think MB engineers have got it spot on, and certainly not too firm. As for mpg, although the official mpg figures are identical between auto v manual, I'm sure it's easier to get close to the manufacturers' figures with the stick shift.
