So the app gave me a warning of low coolant. Crapped myself to be honest.
On inspection the coolant was about 5cm below optimal in the main reservoir tank. Didnt open in smaller engine mounted reservoir but that had coolant in it.
I looked carefully for any coolant leaking in the engine bay or rads etc. Could not see any
However, noticed a few drops near the reservoir cap - on nearby metalwork. Almost as if some had leaked out of the cap itself.

I did a cold start and could not see any leaks anywhere including the reservoir.
Proceeded to top it back up to full. Twisted cap on firmly and confined the final click.
Another cold start and everything looks absolutely fine with no leaks.

My plan is to monitor the level over the forthcoming weeks.

What I find odd is Ive seen some comments saying these care can consume coolant. Ive never had this on any other car including an e class I kept for 10y and did 100k on.

Just want to sense check everything and check with folks that I'm not missing anything.
Cheers

Hi, I have a 2019 C63 and coolant has been a pain from day zero, starting off with the cap not being fitted properly when I first collected it.

Over the years, I’ve had to top it off three times.

One thing I did have go wrong is the coolant pipe had a micro fracture where it rubbed on something behind the car radiator - that resulted in a coolant dump.

The replacement part was low cost, maybe £10-20, but the labour was £650 odd. Unfortunately it happened just after my warranty ran out (Sod’s Law 🙂)

You'll know if that happens though!

I've also been told the engines can like oil, not sure if that's true or not, but I've had that once where the car asks for a litre of oil. Ironically, that was just before the three year ownership point too.
