W201,W210,W124 On my way to ?
I have spent the afternoon reading reams of posts on this subject and I am no clearer on the subject.
I want to drop my 95 300d bought last week by 30/40mm then put a set of 17s on.

Is there any one out there who have done this model and can provide a list of stuff I need to buy?
Also a rim size/offset and tyre combo for no rubbing
Will I suffer odd tyre wear?

I am a building contractor and as such know nothing of such things.

Lowering springs & shocks if you want to do it properly.

Or just chop the oem springs and wait for your shocks to go

Might be worth checking your spring pad sizes too, can get a bit extra by swapping them for thinner ones.

Hope that helps

Are the lower shocks shorter,i guess so
Spring pads are they dealer only? what im I looking for?

Spring pads available in different sizes.thinnest are,
Front part no.201 321 09 84
Rear part no. 201 325 09 44

Think they are about £10 per pair
To check originals feel around top of spring at front you should see/feel either 3,2 or 1 bump. 3 bumps thickest(or 4?). 1 bump is thinnest
Changing from 3 bump to 1 bump should give 18 mom drop.
If your changing wheel size, I'd do that first as you may find clearance issues where other people don't.
