M112 Air intake

When I recently changed the air filter on my E240 I noticed that the air intake tubing isn't stuck together properly. To explain, on mine the air intake is like this:

Air filter box > MAF > Flexible rubber tube > Rigid plastic intake tube to engine

The problem is that the rubber tube is not connected to the rigid plastic intake, it's just sitting in front of it, and there doesn't seem to be a way to join it together. It looks like there is a part missing or broken, but I'm not sure what.

It clips together, there an absolute pita to get to go back.

Maybe you are missing the plastic ring that holds them toghether like a clamp

There is a plastic ring on the end of the rubber bit, but it looks too small to fit over the plastic tube?
