M119 knocking noise one side

Hi all,

Per the attached video, my ‘94 W140 S500 is having this knocking noise that is only present on one side of the engine. Is this normal?

The engine has just been completely overhauled with new piston rings, and one of the cylinders was re-sleeved. Thanks for the help.

Doesn’t sound normal to me.

Not an expert but would not expect any knocking noises . If it doesn’t sound right to you then it probably isn’t . I would be right back on the phone to the garage who did the work tell them come out and listen to it before you drive it any further just in case you end up needing another rebuild

I agree that's not right, but it doesn't sound like a metalic knock, more like an induction noise. Take it back to where it was repaired, surly with that amount of work you would have been given a warranty.
