Hi all,

Could you please advise on the following error for M271 1.8 kompressor w204. After replacing the timing chain before 3 000 miles I noticed reappearing error p0011 - the position of the intake camshaft (cylinder bank 1) deviates from the specific value. No loss of power or signs for any problems but the error is bothering me whether I shall take any action. Can this be related to camshaft position sensor failure or something else?

I attach 2 screens with the error code and particularly the position of camshafts.

Thanks for the support!

Might be a faulty camshaft position sensor on bank 1?

Also, if the two camshaft position sensors have the same MB part number stamped on them (I no longer have the car with the M271 engine so can't check), then you could try swapping them around and see if the fault goes to bank 2.

PS - I am assuming the error code didn't start immediately after the timing chain change? Because if it did then you should take the car back to the garage and have them fix it...

Thanks a lot! You are absolutely right, I realized that error occurred immediately after the timing chain change. I will check with them for a fix.
