MB centre vents

Having just got back from a round trip to Nottingham in my new (to me) Accord Tourer :ban: was wondering if MB still make the centre vents blow cold when all the rest can be set to the desired temp (like my CE) and do any other manufacturers..

After a long day and 6 hours on the road, I couldn't get the temp right in the Honda despite its dual climate, either too cold, or too hot and stuffy... The CE is great as you can toast your toes and blow cold air on your face to keep you awake...

51mpg has its downsides..

Well, the 211 started out with a control to do that, but the accountants removed it in the 2004 "facelift" in which - stunningly - they also removed the strap that let you pull the centre armrest down easily. They also removed the puddle lights, the centre console air con outlet, and other stuff which I have since forgotten about (I did a thread on it once :o).

As I can never get my 211's temperature right (I always have cold feet and a stuffy upper cabin) I have really come to resent the removal of that adjuster.

I prefer to think of it as the 2004 "strip-out". (Rant over)

That makes me feel a little better - there were moments yesterday where I was thinking perhaps I should have stretched to a 211....:(

Did they put it back in the 'back to proper quality' 212?

I really notice it as due to a footie injury, I usually drive long distances in socks - and the tootsies feel the cold.

I guess I'll get over it, but the CE really is a fantastic distance car - if only petrol were cheaper :)

Run it on gas, you will get the equivalent to 60 mpg running cost for the fuel.

And a small boot and the installation costs and a short range. Nice idea in principle which I did consider but I regularly fill the CE boot to the brim and don't like the idea of losing the spare.

Whilst I've been doing the mileage to justify a conversion - there are other reasons for retiring the CE from family hack duty.
