Mercedes AMG E43

I really like this stealth looking car .. with 400hp

You don't have to look too far back for 400hp to have been a full fat AMG.

Add 4WD to that and some half sensible fuel economy and this looks excellent.

I guarantee you just won't need the massive power of the E63 after driving this. I can't keep my foot in for more than 5 seconds with ours.

But it's not an E63.

You can't go backwards H and 200hp less is 200hp less.

Let's hope so :thumb:

In AMG terms, the power hike is quite subtle. The six-pot makes 401bhp, 34bhp more than the E400. But, thanks to those new, bigger turbos, a hefty 384lb ft of torque is available from just 2500rpm. That power and torque is split between all four wheels (admittedly a front-to-rear ratio of 31:69) and sent through Merc’s nine-speed auto ‘box to see 0-62mph off in 4.6 seconds. As ever, top speed is limited to 155mph.

It's a left hooker in the article. The current model is available as fwd but left hooker only.

I hope it makes it here as fwd.

I think that would be a fine replacement for our e55 estate. Much though I'd love to say I need to full fat e63 basically I don't. But I'd really want the 4wd option so I hope that comes too.

I'm pretty sure it's already announced for Australia which would be RHD. Plus it's probably the same running gear as the C43 AMG which is 4WD in RHD.

Should be good, I'm sure there's a strong market for AMG "light", not for me though, I prefer to sit at the traffic lights with rubber wiping it's **** all over the Tarmac.

Excellent - I'd really enjoy the traction that it would offer.

4.1 becomes 3.6 (according to the tests) on the current model in fwd form :thumb:.

Even hot hatches are hitting mid 4's these days.

It's just not cricket.

aren't the 213 and 205 platforms specifically engineered for 4WD/AWD in RHD form?
