Hi I'm new to the Mercedes club. I'm got a problem with my 2013 220 cdi coupe. The car lacks power .I used obd reader the code was p0101 maf sensor I took it out cleaned it with the proper cleaner still no joy but iv found a split in my intercooler pipe .I'm wondering if this could be causing the problem with the maf sensor .

Without your chassis no and knowing precisely which pipe we are talking about impossible to say for sure but does it look like this?

Genuine Mercedes-Benz W212 E-Class C218 CLS LH Intercooler Hose A2125280000 NEW

the other side would be A2045286682

Looks more like the 1st pic . Car is a c220 cdi w204 model 2013 .will have a good look tomorrow & see if there's any number on pipe thanks

If its the one in the first picture your split pipe may have a number starting A204-------- Don't worry about this as its been superceded by the one I gave you. Always check against your chassis no before ordering!

I will do thanks & hopefully this Will solve the problem & enjoy the new car

The car will detect an air leak, but the ECU needs to generate a limp mode and fault code to go with it. So it will pick on a sensor that will can do it. So it uses the MAF (pulls its signal wire) to generate the limp and turn on the EML light. As a result you will also see a fault code.

Your code reader did you no favours here, STAR would have likely said it was open circuit, and had a charge pressure too low fault code to go with it.

The pipe has been changed still a left sensor fault the garage changed it but noticed a wire problem so he has called an auto electrition to sort out the wireing problem as he said looks like some one has had a good with the wires & done a bad diy job on them

I didn't understand any of the above...

What fault code remains?
The garage changed the intercooler pipe . Changed maf sensor still got fault now the garage has ordered an original maf sensor from Mercedes to see if that helps . The garage said it was a maf sensor I had code off my obd reader was p0101 . I'm just sick now iv only owned car 3 weeks & had nothing but bother with it . I thought the garage would of sorted out the problem by now .I'm wondering if there is a vacum leak somewhere else on the engine .any help would appreciated

On this engine the code you are experiencing was caused by the split pipe. Check the dpf values and make sure it hasn’t got full because of the limp mode issue. What you are experiencing with the code not going after replacing the split hose nearly always happens with that fault code

I'm waiting to get car back from garage after they have put a new maf sensor an original Mercedes one as the aftermarket one didn't cure the problem

Hi Furby73, did you have any joy with the above? I have the same issue, split intercooler pipe and MAF sensor code P0101

cheers

Mike

Had new intercooler pipe fitted & new maf sensor fitted & still have the same problem . Fault code still pending so car didn't regenerate dpf . Got blocked dpf aswell . Can't force generate with pending fault code . Car at garage should get some news back this week

I would get them to check all the boost hoses, just in case there is another leak.

When I left the garage the mechanic had a smoke machine on as he thought it might have a pressure leak somewhere. They have had the car a week now & not sorted out the problem yet .

Hi, how are you getting on with the problem?
