Mercedes Concept A-Class Revealed

Last edited:
I think it looks quite tasty - a more stylised Astra maybe - but the Astra is a handsome car IMHO.

Sorry but I have feeling the B class is also part of the "sandwich floor pogrom"! and will share the new MFA platform with the A class

Details emerge on 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class

Next-Gen Mercedes B-Class to spawn coupe, crossover, EV & sedan?

It may be better to buy one from Renault then . Hopefully not all is lost and there will be something decent out of it. Luckily, there are other spacious-{not-so}-compact car to choose from like C-Max, Skoda Yeti, Nissan Qashqai, the Ugly 3008 and so on.

Guys, don't forget this is just a concept...The real car will be quite different.

In my opinion this is a good move by Mercedes. I have always said the current A and B class cars are just to similar. I guess Mercedes are thinking along the same lines. It is a very good idea to discontinue the CLC and completely redesign the A class. This way the C class truly becomes a mid luxury car with no hatch backs to cheapen its image and the redesigned A becomes the mini hatch line for Mercedes. :thumb:

So anyway I was standing at the sink draining the veg to go with Sundays roast, and I looked down at the sieve and thought, grill, that just shouts to me front and rear grills!

So i dropped a line to a mate of my at Mercedes ;)

Personally I prefer the style inside and outside of my old W124 300TD, looks too much like something out of Startrek. If only they still made the W124....:dk:

I didn't see that anywhere:dk:. So this will be a Clio / Megane junk with a star and MB price tag? Oh dear. I hope they don't ruin the B class next.

Rest assured; they will ruin the B class as well. Like the A class it is also planned to be a Renault but with an MB badge glued on.

It is so sad to see happening to Mercedes what has happened to so many companies. New business managers come in, caring little for the heritage of the marque, caring little for the 100 years of brilliant engineering that it took to build the brand's formidable reputation, and caring only for market share and the bottom line, willing to prostitute the brand for twenty pieces of silver -or less.

When I was a boy and dreamed of owning a Mercedes I can honestly say I never dreamed of it having a Renault engine, bought in as part of a cost cutting exercise, sanctioned by a board of money-grubbing finance men who care not a jot for what Mercedes has stood for in the past and still should both today and tomorrow. Shame on them.
