I had my car at local garage as I have an ABS inoperative see owners manual message on dash. This is the error messages that came up when connecting to diagnostic machine. They weren’t sure what the issue is and said it will need to go to Mercedes. Anyone got any idea as to what it could be?E46DE527-DD25-4084-9B78-E711F735D1B5.jpeg

Your nearest MB dealer would be INVERNESS [ Arnold Clark]----sounds like a straight foward ABS wheel sensor or associated wiring failure. Might be worth trying to just replace it

Front right speed sensor .

Had both the front sensors pack up on mine within 2 months of each other at about 50K miles . Also needed a reluctor on the nearside. My local Indy always carries the wheel sensors on his van as apparently they are a common issue.

Is this the correct part here? Is it the same part for both sides?

I phoned my nearest Mercedes garage and they said part number A2049054305 was the one I needed? Why would they not say the one mentioned in this diagram? Or do they both fit?

Parts are often updated.

Buy from Mercedes, if its wrongly supplied they will change it.

As said above, your garage should have been able to deduce the fault from the initial readout.

Diagram is years old and parts have been redesigned and renumbered since.

These are common enough on eBay, and inexpensive.
The 'my garage' tool should say if it's appropriate for you motor. If it's wrong return it no cost.

Be prepared for the 10mm head bolt to shear.
Be prepared for the plastic sensor to be stuck in the bore.

Drilling either / both out isn't a great problem. Pilot 1st and go larger being careful to keep centred.
The old sensor in place can be useful for the bolt hole centering.
An M6 tap to clean the bolt thread. I replace any that come out with A4 stainless bolts.
A little copper grease on both isn't daft.

Thanks everyone for your help.I ordered the part number that the Mercedes dealership recommended.
