I use the Mercedes Me Send to Car function on a regular basis. Open app find destination and click Send to Car. Open car start up and click accept destination and all is good. For the last few days it has not worked unless I am sitting in the car which rather defeats the point of the app. Have removed and reinstalled the app on my iPhoneSE IOS10. I have removed phone from car fully then reconnected. I have checked Bluetooth settings on phone and allowed access and notifications. Car accessed phone for Comand apps and for calls so I am sure it’s connecting. My car is 2016 S205 with Comand satnav. I gave up using the built in Comand POI app for navigation as it’s so slow to load. The send to vehicle function when it’s working makes the Comand app redundant.
Any ideas regarding settings I have missed?

Now several weeks into trying to use the app to send destinations but despite the app saying sent they do not pop up on the screen or on the painfully Slow navigation app in Comand Contacted MB for help they suggested removing and reloading app, removing phone from cars Bluetooth and then re connecting the phone which is what we all would have done without contacting MB for help. Have removed and reinstalled the latest updated version of the 2020 app on my iPhoneSE IOS 13.4.1I have removed phone from car fully then reconnected. I have checked Bluetooth settings on phone and allowed access and notifications. Car accessed phone for Comand apps and for calls so I am sure it’s connecting. My car is 2016 S205 with Comand satnav 5*2.

Any ideas regarding settings I have missed? Navigation works fine by either voice or manual input but is not as handy as sending locations from my phone. Spent quite some time yesterday playing with the app and loading and reloading to no avail. Car is parked in the normal place and feeds back data to the app and allows locking and unlocking so the cars SIM is getting a signal. Not going anywhere but very local destinations at present but would like it working for when we can go on trips in the future.

I should say I had largely written off this app and not used this function. I tried it a few weeks ago and it didn’t work. I tried it again whilst sat in the car and it did work. It does seem a bit pointless.

You had a better result than I managed to get. Will not even send destination from phone to car when sitting in the car engine off or on.
MB App support slow to respond and not very helpful in the past. Did not try this week as they must be on skeleton staffing.
My solution will be to write destination address down and manually enter it. Such a shame that the 2020 app worked for me when first released but now afterapp updates it does not.

I can test it again later when I’m off to the supermarket.

I have the audio 20 system in my 2107 C300h and I have to in to the Mercedes apps and then POI download.

That then shows the address I sent, I just click that and it fires up the nav.

Very long winded way of doing things.

Does anyone else find Send 2 car hardly ever works at the moment (2017 c63)? Mine occasionally works with Bluetooth tethering but never without. Do you always need to use Bluetooth tethering?

I cannot get mine to work at present (2016 S205 with Comand 5*2) . Have sent destination to car, nothing pops up even when phone has Bluetooth connection, this function stopped over a year ago for me. Since it stopped I had to load destination via MB apps in Comand but even this has stopped. Went into navigation “load destination from Mercedes apps” and MB apps fail to load.

Same issue as I have been having. It now just says on the screen 'the page requested cannot be loaded fully' when going into MB APPs in Comand, despite the connection showing as online.

A poor show having paid a premium price when I ordered my car with Comand to ensure I could send destinations to the car from my phone so I could load them up when I went out to the car.
There is no wonder so may posts say use a phone app to navigate rather than the built in navigation system.

Mine works every time, although sometimes it doesn't pop up in the car until I've been driving for a minute or so

Hasn’t worked on our car since Mercedes disabled internet browsing on Comand Online, which is now a misnomer. That said, I sent it a destination for an engagement tomorrow. So I’ll find out if it’s been fixed or if it’s still fuxed.

@Farmer boy Aren't factory fitted navigation systems (not just MB, but any manufacturer) generally inferior to Waze/Google Maps/Apple Maps on smartphones though?

Car manufacturers do not seem to be able to keep up with the pace at which app developers improve their product. Upgrading the factory satnav is not a cash earner for the manufacturer or dealership. Software upgrades take time to develop and to load. MB have so many versions of their navigation systems that only the most recent systems seem to get upgrades or bug fixes. The “ free for 3 years” map upgrades are often out of date when released and after the 3 years cost nearly as much as a basic TomTom with lifetime maps when you have to pay for them.

so the answer to raspy’s question is yes built in systems are inferior in function, cost more and are very difficult to update.

@Farmer boy I was curious why you are using the built in navigation rather than maps on a smartphone?

Having paid for an expensive built in sat nav when I ordered the car from new I always used it. Was easy to send destinations from my phone and all worked well for about 4.5 years but now the send to car has stopped working. I do not like having my phone mounted on the windscreen and as my version of Comand does not support mirroring of my phone I just use the built in sat nav. It’s just a bit annoying to have to input the destination when in the past you only had to click on an onscreen message to confirm that you want to “navigate to …… “.

Same here.

@Farmer boy Noted. Yeah, I can see how the recent changes for you must be annoying. I don't know about your journeys, but I tried Comand once, and it was rubbish for my journeys, whereas maps on smartphone save me minutes, or sometimes hours each day, in terms of real time re-routings and finding new shortcuts to get to where I want to go as quickly as possible.

I hear you about not wanting to mount a phone on the windscreen. I found a mount that slots in using one of the front cup holders, so problem solved.
