Mercedes Me help needed

Finally have my lovely GLC and try8ng to setup Mercedes me online

I’ve registered but when I go t9 activate I have to enter my postcode which is deemed an error?

Anyone else in UK have this?

Just tried the app and I can't even log in so it may be an issue their end.

It was down for maintenance earlier this week.

I can only use the app on my phone if I uninstall it & reinstall it or it just says it cannot connect, no amount of retries work, only uninstall & reinstall will allow to work for one time only?

Call the Mercedes Me helpline 00800 9 777 77 77 and they will help you activate it without a trip to the dealer....

You have to have a space in the middle of the postcode and +44 at the front of the phone numbers

Agree with markjay. I emailed them on several occasions and they were very responsive and helpful. Even called me and explained.

It's cheaper at the dealer... apparently they use it as a marketing tool to encourage you to visit thr dealership.

Also... when was your car first registered...? And does it have COMAND Online?

Cars registered after (roughly) June 2013 may have a KOM module fitted with built-in simcard... in which case is possible that you may not need the Mercedes Me Adapter...

Log into your Mercedes Me account and check which 'Services' are available for your car.

Difficult to say... if it has COMAND Online then it *may* already have the KOM (communications) module with the buiit-in simcard.

But even so, it may be the case that on early models the KOM module could only be used for receiving the TomTom Live Traffic service, but not for connection to the car via app etc. In this case you may sill need the Mercedes me Adapter even if you do have the KOM module.

The best way of finding out is by opening an online account with Mercedes Me and then registering your car (you'll need the car's VIN). Once this has been done, you should be able to see which 'Services' are available for your car on he Mercedes Me website.

If it is only showing one 'Service' available, i.e. the 'Mercedes me Adapter' service, then yes you will need one. But without checking the eligibility of your car for the Mercedes Me services on the website it is very difficult to tell what's-what on these early cars i.e. mid to late 2013.
