Is it just me or is the Mercedes Me app totally pointless? Funny how when I set it up on Saturday, today I got a phone call from MB to try and book my A4 service that is a few days overdue?

What would be useful would being able to turn the car on in the morning to warm up the interior. Apparently this is possible in other countries.

Mine is now 3 years old now, so I am wondering if there is any 3rd party software to load instead of the rubbish they call Connect. A decent satnav system would be a start.

AFAIK leaving a vehicle unattended with the engine running is an offence in the UK.

As for 3rd party software to connect to your vehicle and manage it.... unlikely, due to obvious security concerns.

Regarding better SatNav software... retrofitting Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will probably address this issue.

S212 is the car identifier.

I have no problems with my Satnav, the TomTom live integration is very useful.

There is the odd strange routing but no more so than any others I have had.

Mercedes Me is quite useful, it will send you a message if you leave your car unlocked and you can lock/unlock the car remotely, find the car should you forget where it’s parked, sent destinations to the navigation, check fuel, tyres, washer etc remotely and a few other useful or not abilities.

I think it's quite useful. I can use mine for preheating/cooling as it's a plug in. I quite often use the unlock/lock function. It's certainly the easiest way of checking the tyre pressures!

Just to add the Mercedes Me functions vary from model to model. I think the preheating function is available in the Hybrid and S Class models but not the standard C Class. As people have mentioned there are useful features, I particularly like the unlock/lock function. If you check the Mercedes Me portal this will give you a better idea of what your car is capable of.

I'm don't know if it's region locked, but I know the Me app with the W213 that has the Park Pilot/Parking Package has the ability for you to park and pull out the car from the Me app. Will try when my car comes in. I'm actually stupidly excited for this little feature. Just for the cool factor.

The iPhone app seems pretty pointless to me. The only thing I really use it for is to check the fuel tank percentage although I've managed for this many years without that. There seems to be better functionality on the web app, e.g. a parking timer, which would actually be useful in the app.

I think my command sat nav on a 12" screen is fantastic...probably the best I've seen... and having the ability to send it a destination from MMe is even better.
When you send a destination to the car. Where does it go in the sat nav?? I have looked every where?
Thank you

Hey there

Welcome to the club !

For me it doesn't "go" anywhere in a file or something. As soon as I get in and turn on the ignition it displays a pop up box with the sent destination and a " do you want to navigate to here yes/no "

Hope that helps

In my C Class (2017) I make sure that Bluetooth Tethering is enabled on my phone so the car can get an internet connection.
I then use the MB Satnav and choose Nav - Destination - From Mercedes-Benz Apps - POI Download.
There's a demonstration of this on YouTube showing sending a destination from the Mercedes Me web app and how to retrieve it once you're in your car:

The Mercedes Me I have installed for my new E63s doesn't have the destinations and routes option.

Pretty sure it does - it is not great for routes but destinations does work in mine....which app are you using?

Tap on the three bars, then 'Mobility'.

I am using the Mercedes ME portal on my PC and the Mercedes Me app on my iPhone. I cant find Destinations or Mobility anywhere.

I use the android app, which has the Mobility option; I'm afraid I know nothing about the iphone.

I can't find a way to send destinations from my computer.

I've got a feeling it's another thing that only works on Android phones.

It’s not possible, only in hybrid Mercedes or a G Wagon with an auxiliary heater. The engine can’t be running if you’re not in the car
