Hi there

I've just purchased a 2006 Mercedes ML 320 sport (love it!). The Comand unit has a "video" button, but I've put DVDs into the unit and it will not play. I'm probably being stupid, but how do I play video on it? Yes, I'm parked when I'm trying this :) Any help appreciated

Reading Richard's excellent reference website -

"COMAND-APS (NTG2)

Mercedes Benz then produced a cost reduced system which it introduced into the W203 C and W209 CLK for the mid 2004 facelift (approx March 2004 production onward) and then was released with the new model A, B, ML, GL and R class vehicles, it is also fitted to the Smart forfour, and the W639 Vito/VIano vehicles.

This system put all the components into one double-din height unit, significantly simplifying the wiring.

The NTG2 system, however, lost its ability to play DVD and MP3 disks, and of course as there is no seperate navigation drive playing a CD and navigating with a full map requires a CD changer."

Ok. Thanks interesting reading. Weird that there is a "video" button though it will not play anything. THanks

Some versions of the NTG2 have a video input on the rear - the button is for that.

Amusingly, those models that DON'T have the video inputs still have the button

you may be lucky as the car is a 2006, that it should have the green fakra on the back for video input. This being the case you can retrofit TV and/or a thrid party DVD system.

Gents,

Does the green Fakra handle only video?

Presuming yes... how is audio from an external device handled?
