Car
e63 AMG
Car is in getting serviced at the minute by a reputable independent mechanic.

I wondered what everyone's thoughts were on Service History with Mercedes etc..?

Mobil 1 0-40w bought, receipts.
Filters bought from Mercedes
Dot 4+ brake fluid oil changed

Car has been serviced on 5 occasions now and has 45,000k's. Previous history was with Mercedes.

Would this stop anyone from purchasing a car?

Quite the contrary , the MB service history could make it more desirable

A good independent won't knock value off the resale - which one is it ?

It's an e63, under warranty etc..
It's an independent garage down Armagh direction - Car was purchased off C.Hurst.

Think I remember the car for sale - white one ? Lovely wagon :)

If it's an independent just ensure they are using genuine Mb parts but if you've already bought these and hold into receipts then your dancing

This is what I did at my last A service- had my oil filter etc direct from MB with supporting receipts and then purchased my Mobil 1 online and asked my independent to do the work , reset the service indicator and they just charged me labour and any additional

Hi, who do people recommend over here for a service instead off the main dealerships? I have used Mercedes in Belfast a few times and the service has always been pretty good but there hourly rates are pretty high(£120 per hr).

Creevy autos just outside Belfast - they have worked on another forum owners c63 and my own CLS and they are a good bunch

AMG with part MBSH and still under 45k, I'd personally probably overlook it if it was for sale IMO. What year is it?

Nothing against independents whatsoever, or the car... I have a brilliant local independent although I don't have them service my car

I'd like a C63 soon, but any without MBSH I'll simply move on. All the cheaper ones are part MBSH and independent, very tempting but I don't think I could go for one

Independent history wouldn't bother me after the warranty period on a car just prefer main dealer first few years even better though if it continues longer for a cars value IMO...

'reputable independent' = not a problem. Neither the car's value nor desirability will be affected.

Cheers,

Genuine Mercedes parts used and Mobil 1 oil, just the labor carried out by independent.
No Lenny, white one was for sale at the same time but spec wasn't as high and mileage slightly higher.

Ashy - car is 2010 with a full MBSH up until now.

I have checked with warranty & dealer, getting serviced by an independent mechanic does not affect warranty whatsoever.

Anyway, post service car feels & sounds crisp & lovely to drive.

Really good guys.
They also looked after my old CLK55.
