Greetings from Malaysia.
Finally after all the trouble, hassles and stress that I went through for almost 4 months since the arrival of my W123 230 CE, I received an approval letter from the Department of Transport Malaysia to enable the car to be registered. I had to go through all the channels and appeals with whatever documents that I had to get the approval.
The Department finally accepted that the XXXXXXXX on the chassis numbers was done during production due to some stamping error. They also acknowledged that the restamped chassis numbers are correct even though it was not clear due to rust and corrosion. The Department also did their own test on the numbers and finally acknowledged that the numbers are correct and matched the UK V5.
I had to pay for all the tests the approvals at various levels etc.
I take this opportunity to thank all members that have provided me all the support, advice, suggestions etc.
Thank you all again.
